Plia Cohn is a native of Mamaroneck, New York who has lived in St. Louis since attending the St. Louis University School of Law. She received her Juris Doctorate and Certificate of Health Law in 1997 and was admitted to the Missouri Bar that same year.
Plia began her legal career at the Missouri Attorney General’s Office where she was responsible for managing a large volume of Workers’ Compensation cases in defending the Second Injury Fund, as an Assistant Attorney General and as a Unit Leader. She has argued cases before the Missouri Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of Missouri.
Plia left the Attorney General’s Office in 2004 to be a full time caregiver to her young children. She was a coordinator in the Planning and Allocations Department of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, managing grant based programs for beneficiary agencies. In 2013 Plia joined the Petraborg Law Firm as an Associate attorney.
Plia is married to Creighton Cohn, also an attorney, who specializes in Consumer Protection Law. Plia and Creighton have three children.
